Probably your blog and your mailing list are two kings of your web-based business. However, there is the third king to turn your online marketing channel into a golden mine. This is your own affiliate program. You should “enthrone Him”.
There’s nothing better than watching an army of affiliate sell your products successfully. Though, it’s not only about money. They also promote your brand throughout the internet. They drive traffic and leads to your website.
Quality email leads are your keys to repeated customers. You must build your list, not only concentrate on sales. Affiliate program is a wonderful lead generation tool. It’s awesome if you know how to use it right for that purpose.
Most vendors practice dishonest methods to get free leads from the traffic brought by their affiliates stealing their sails. Avoid their mistakes. Be sure to read my article about it here.
You cannot put an email subscription form right on your sales page if you don’t track sales made through your newsletter. You cannot put anything that drives traffic away from your sales page. No leaks. Otherwise, it’s a scam. Most affiliates will run away from your product.
So how do you get leads? It’s not enough to convert your buyers in email subscribers. You’d like to expose your subscription offer to everyone who arrives on your website. At the same time you want more affiliates to promote your business.
First off, you have to track sales made via your mailing list. You must pay out commissions to those people who deliver the leads you monetize. They’re not interested in building your list for free. They want to work and get paid!
It’s not possible to track these sales with Clickbank, Amazon or similar platforms. You need more functionality. So go find a software that supports all necessary features and set up your own independent affiliate program.
Track sales by email addresses. Your software must record who refer this subscriber and who referred that subscriber. When a purchase is made the commission must be paid out to the right referrer. If the referrer is you – keep all money to yourself. But if it’s your affiliate – pay him his share.
Make sure your affiliates understand how your email sales tracking works. Explain it to them in the clearest form. They shouldn’t worry about losing sales.
Second, they must approve of the methods you use to monetize your email newsletter. If they see you spamming your email subscribers they won’t promote your product. It’s nonsense to drive leads to your list if you kill it with spam or other kind of junk.
Your affiliates must believe in your professional email marketing techniques or why should they bring you email sign-ups if you’re not able to monetize them?
No sales or poor sales to expect. So it’s a waste of time for you and them.
Third, promote only your own products to email subscribers referred by your affiliates. Don’t sell other products as an affiliate, don’t advertise something that your affiliates don’t get paid for. This is not a fair game. Don’t try to steal their money. You’re supposed to sell the products they promote to the subscribers they refer to you.
No ad swaps, no third party links, no leaks of any kind. Only products they promote. Remember, those are not your own leads. They belong to your affiliates. Value their hard work delivering new prospects to your business. Don’t piss them off!
You can do whatever you want with the leads you referred to your mailing list on your own.
Well, this is how your lead generation king rules!
